Jim
04-09-2006 – 21:46I am feeling sad and somewhat flustered. This morning I read on the news site that crocodile hunter Steve Irwin died. As if that wasn’t sad enough, I just now heard that a friend of the druidic seed group I semi-regularly visit, died while scuba diving on July 9. Jim Holbrook, you were so wise and so friendly, and I will always remember you like that. Some people just radiate an air of goodness and positivity, and you were one of them. Farewell…

Sorry for your loss.
This caught my eye though:
> druidic
It would seem we have more in common than I thought :)

Really? I’m somehow not even surprised.. :)

Well, I haven’t been active for years and have defaulted back to being agnostic. For now, I have no need for any structured religion. Used to favour the Asatru approach, back in college…

Ooh nordic religions, haven’t been into those yet.. :)
I kept telling myself I was an atheist for a long time, until I met a friend who introduced me to the Amsterdam Seed Group. I go to rituals every now and then, and I have adapted a somewhat different look on life. I really feel at home in the ways of nature. For one, there’s an element of peace in my life I didn’t know before :)

At the time it was the most attractive pantheon to me, for various reasons.

Ah! But do you really mean “atheist”, or “agnost”? There’s a difference :)

Ah, I’ve heard of Obod… Years ago though. I never did care much for group activities, because things usually got way to “zweverig” for me. I always like combining pagan religion, with down-to-earth thinking.
I’m happy that you feel at home though :) To me, the most important thing in religion is that everyone should get to choose what he/she likes best. So if you want to do things this way, while others do it that way, it’s no problem :)

Back then I said atheist, but I really meant agnost. Atheist was a popular word at school those days… I knew I didn’t approve of Christianity in many ways, but I was not under the impression that there was ‘nothing there’ so to speak.
Btw, pagan religions are about as down-to-earth as you can get, given the respect they show for the earth ;)

Haha… I’ll forgive you the pun, because I’m sure you know exactly what I meant. I’m leery of what in dutch is called a “zweefteef”.
