Internship, attempt #2
19-03-2007 – 07:18Last week I finally heard back from U-TRAX. I sent an e-mail and after receiving no reply (it had been two weeks since I handed in my translations) I called them, and was emailed back a negative response. They liked my translation but, so they said, I don’t fit in the ‘team’. All I want to say to U-TRAX is, it might have been nice to respond a bit earlier so I could find another company on time, plxktnxbye. Moving on.
I sent an e-mail to another company, named TechText, and this is another option which seems really appealing. This company deals in technical translations, so this one is right up my alley as well. Let’s hope for an answer!

Yup… looks like something that would suit you… hope you get it so you can finish these last bits of school-stuff. Good luck

Makes you wonder though why they thought you wouldn’t fit in the team. Did they mention anything about that? Did you ask? Could be useful information for your next application.

I didn’t ask yet, but my simple though educated guess is that I stuttered too much. I got a feeling for these things over the years…
One can never be sure though, and this is the one thing they would never tell me to my face (people never do, even though they watch it in agony). And it might be a stupid thing of me not to ask, but I’m in no mood to ask, really.
Best thing is to stay calm and show TechText what I’ve got :)
