Music for series

I was watching The Craft the other day, a nice teenage emo movie which gives all the wrong impressions about witchcraft – for instance, the god “Manon” they invoke doesn’t even exist. I first watched it when I was about 16 years old, and back then I thought it was one of the coolest movies ever. I did change my opinion about that over the years, or so it seems, but it’s still a nice movie.

The soundtrack of that movie features a song people might know better from Charmed: How Soon Is Now by a band called Love Spit Love (and we never heard from them again). I thought it might be nice to hear the full song again so I’m posting it here.

This reminds me of another song nobody knows by name but everyone has heard for at least ten seconds: Flyswatter by Eels. Net5 used it in their promotion for the first series of Desperate Housewives

  • We actually watched it with a group of friends over New Year’s. Can you believe it? Over five hundred DVD titles in our home and “The Craft” was the lowest common denominator? x_x

Anywho, the movie’s soundtrack also features one of our favourite girl-rock bands: Letters to Cleo. They also make an appearance in “Ten things I hate about you”. They rock ;)

IMHO that doesn’t matter one jot. If someone wants to believe in Manon as being the representation of this world’s deity, then should do so. In my book you’re allowed to put any face you want on what you believe in. And you’re allowed to replace that face as often as you like. As long as it suits what you need at the time.

Yes, to me religion is something that’s to convenience the believer and not to restrict him.

  • Nice tunes indeed ;) both of em…

It was a nice movie… though I haven’t seen it in ages
