Poem: Flying Lessons

16-06-2006 – 21:17

Heck, I feel all poetic after Soosh’s post. I had this one lying around…

Flying lessons

A fairy came to me and said I could fly
And so I flew happily away
But before I left the fairy said: ‘Why
would you be the exception today?’

People flew everywhere, high and low
Trying to show off their powers
Yes, quite a sight it was, shat show
They flew higher than the towers

The air got really crowded there
Flying thieves stole women’s purses
And from the traffic jam in the air
I could hear a thousand curses

Again my feet touched the ground
After quite a heavy fall
All alone, I thought, while walking around:
‘This is not so bad at all!’

What lesson did I learn that day?
Humans shouldn’t fly anyway…
