You know the scene from Love Actually where Harry (Alan Rickman) tries to buy a gift for his secretary but meets a salesman (Rowan Atkinson) who takes so incredibly long with packing that Harry just has to leave it at the store?
Well yesterday I was buying a gift… first I paid for it, then the cashier sent me to a lady behind a different counter to pack it for me. Translated, the conversation went somewhat like this:
“Do you want a transparant bag or a regular piece of giftwrapping?”
- “Well I don’t care, either one.”
“Oh but miss, the transparant bag is so much better!”
- “Fine, go ahead.”
“I’m just going to add some ribbons and put them in the bag like this… oh wait they simply must be curled!”
- “Yes but please, I have a train to catch!”
“Oh don’t worry, it won’t take long. Is the gift for a lady or a gentleman?”
- “Well a lady but what does that -”
“Let me just find some free samples to put in the bag on top of the ribbons!”
- [Silent glare at the lady's back]
“Now we close the bag with another ribbon… oh I forgot the stickers!”
Well to top it off she added more ribbons, I think the lady loved ribbons, and I missed my train >.<
I never knew these kinds of scenes happen in real life too… :)
Etos, but you were close :>
Sweet Jeebus, that sounds horrible… It also sounds like that happened at Douglas, didn’t it?
LOL :-))
